The Club is governed by its Constitition WGBC Constitution & Rules May 2024

and holds an AGM of Members every March. Operation of the Club is conducted by the Office-Bearers and Trustees supported by a Management Committee.   Once adopted, the minutes of Management Committee meetings will be posted on the Club Notice Board.

The Club pursues a policy of equality and non-discrimination on any grounds.

The Club holds information on contact details of its members and length of membership. No other personal data on members is held.The information held is for the efficient administration of the Club and will not be disclosed to any third parties (i.e. non-members) (including Club sponsors). Contact details may be given to other Members to facilitate arranging match teams and club competition ties.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY:
The Club recognises its responsibilities for the Health and Safety of Members and Guests
and aims to provide and maintain a safe Clubhouse and Green, safe equipment and a
safe environment.

Responsibility for ensuring that the Club meets its Health and Safety duties is vested in
the Committee who will arrange for an annual risk assessment to ensure appropriate
measures are in place to eliminate/mitigate risk.

Risk assessments have been carried out for each of the following areas:
1. Fire: Smoke Alarms and Fire extinguishers are annually inspected and serviced by
qualified personnel. Smoking is not permitted Inside any of the club buildings.
2. Trips/Falls: Premises/green are checked to ensure potential hazards are appropriately
marked and that any necessary signs are visible. Emergency lighting comes on
automatically after dark.
3. Gas and Electricity: Gas Boiler, Electrical installations and portable electrical
equipment are subject to periodic inspection and testing.
4. Chemicals: Chemicals should be held securely under lock and key and not used
without adequate training.
5. Use of machinery: Machinery for care of the green is maintained and regularly
serviced by our contractors. Tools and machinery should not be used by club members
without adequate training.
6. Food safety: Food prepared in the club kitchen is by members who hold a Food
Hygiene Certificate
7. First Aid: A first aid kit is available and is regularly checked and maintained. There is
also a Defibrillator and several members have been trained in its use..

CLUB MEMBER  HAVE A DUTY TO:
• Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be
affected by what you do or not do.
• Co-operate with the club on health and safety issues.
• Correctly use and store all equipment provided by the club as well as your own
equipment.
• Report any damaged equipment or areas of concern
• Take action to mitigate or report any spillages or other slipping hazards
• Keep internal areas clear of unnecessary items that might cause an accident
• Take care on walkways and special care when stepping onto or off the green
• Wear suitable footwear whilst bowling
• Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.

The Club’s policies on Equity, Privacy and Child Protection were reviewed with a new integrated single Protection & Safety Policy  adopted by the  by the Management  Committee on 21st January 2025 and revised to cover tripping hazards and spills  15th July 2025 .
